David Pittman

David Marche Pittman, MSMIIT is the County Manager for Polk County Local Government, in Western North Carolina. He is responsible for over two hundred and fifty employees and manages a thirty-million-dollar operating budget.

David has over twenty-five years in both State and Local Government, including time as a Deputy Sheriff, Technology Director, and a Magistrate Court Judge. He has built information technology, public safety, and construction projects from the ground up including planning, budgeting, implementation, and management.
He has a Master of Science Degree in Managing Innovation and Information Technology from Champlain College, in Burlington Vermont. He also has an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Leadership Studies from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN.

David serves on a non-profit Board of Directors that has brought Fiber Optic Connectivity to a previously untouched area of Western North Carolina (PANGAEA.US). He also serves as a trustee for Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC, and for St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, NC.
