Biography
Jason Fujinaga is the Program Manager of the John Lewis Public Administration (JLPA) Program at Tulane School of Professional Advancement.
Jason’s passion for public service has brought him to past careers in public policy, law, and operations. Originally from California, Jason has served as the Education Policy Coordinator at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, a business association representing business in Silicon Valley. In this position, he worked with policy leaders to develop career pipelines for individuals facing employment barriers. Jason’s work has also brought him to the field of law. At the Asian Law Alliance, he helped individuals who could not afford legal representation find legal services in the areas of housing, domestic violence, public benefits, and immigration. As a Staff Paralegal at the Mwalimu Center for Justice (previously Capital Post Conviction Project of Louisiana), he helped represent indigent petitioners on Louisiana’s Death Row during state post conviction proceedings. Prior to joining the JLPA Program, Jason was Operations Coordinator for the Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University New Orleans, supporting criminal justice programming and policy.
Jason graduated from Tulane University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minors in Public Policy and History. He is currently a candidate in the John Lewis Public Administration Program while serving as President of the International City / County Management Association’s Tulane Chapter.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys photography and running. He is a proud member of the Tulane SoPA family and enjoys meeting students.
