Jason Lorino

Jason Lorino is currently working for the University of Kansas as a Senior Systems Specialist where he works with servers and applications to support the operations of the University.  In the past, Mr. Lorino has worked in Tulane’s central IT department for over ten years where he supported the servers and VDI infrastructure for the University.

Mr. Lorino is an Adjunct Professor in Tulane University’s School of Professional Development working in the Information Technology department where he is currently a Faculty Fellow and a Distinguished Faculty Member and teaches Server Administration and Industry Certification courses. These courses are designed to be a hands-on class to prepare students for handling situations they will see once they begin working in the technology industry and to prepare them to take IT certification exams.

He received his B.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University, and M.P.S. from Tulane University. Mr. Lorino also holds various current Microsoft and CompTIA certifications.

What are your favorite activities when you are not working?
One of my favorite things to do when I am not working is to watch football. I am a huge college and NFL football fan and watch every game that I can. During football season I will tape every game that my DVR will allow me to, and I will watch 1 or 2 live on the weekend and then I will watch the recorded games so that I have football to watch all week.

Other than trying out new technologies, my other favorite thing to do in my free time is to collect things. I love to collect and organize things as a hobby so have many different types of collections of both physical and digital items.

Who has influenced you most in life?
The person who has influenced me most in my life is my father. He always led by example and was always there for me when I needed anything.
