Jinger Whiddon

Jinger Whiddon is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education. She has taught every grade level (from PreK to 12th grade) in Greater New Orleans with a focus on English and Social Studies.  Jinger considers it a privilege to work in the field of education because she is passionate about teaching and learning, particularly here in our community which she describes as ‘culturally rich and full of life’.  She also has first-hand knowledge of the specific challenges our community faces in educating its young people. She believes in the role that well-prepared teachers can play in helping solve some of our most difficult challenges.  Jinger’s role as the SoPA PreK-12 Education recruitment coordinator allows her to continue to positively impact the lives of young people by helping to ensure that they have access to high-quality teachers. In her opinion, there is no better way to contribute to the more equitable and just society everyone deserves.
