Biography

Kate Forster is an adjunct professor in Information Technology (IT) for the Tulane University School of Professional Advancement (SoPA). Dr. Forster has her Ph.D. in Information Technology with a focus on IT education, and her research interests include cloud adoption in organizations and job experiences of women in IT. She has Master’s degrees in Management Information Systems and Library Science, as well as practical knowledge from over 20 years of work in the field of information technology.

Dr. Forster’s IT career experience includes a wide range of organization types comprised of IT startups, public and private sectors, and an array of organizational sizes. Dr. Forster has skills in multiple software-related technology arenas. Her professional experience includes application software development, database administration and maintenance, business intelligence, and application management. Dr. Forster has spent most of her career in the public sector and nonprofits, focusing on giving back to her community. Currently, she serves as the System Administrator for an educational nonprofit. Her previous positions include serving as a technology trainer and database application developer at a police department, an application manager at a large high school district, and a software engineer for a health care software-as-a-service company.
