Kelly McClure

Kelly McClure, EdD, is a Professor of Practice in the PreK-12 Education Programs at Tulane University where she specializes in educational administration, training, and policy, as well as school, family, and community partnerships and special education.  Kelly also served as the Program Director for three years when she led the expansion and diversification of undergraduate and graduate programs, partnerships, personnel, and students.  During this team, she, the PreK-12 team, and several partners across Greater New Orleans received a $10.6 million SEED grant from the USDOE on which Kelly served as the Principal Investigator.
 
Kelly began her career at the national teacher training institute of Morocco as part of the United States Peace Corps. She continued her focus on education in Boston, where she coordinated two literacy programs and served as a teaching fellow at Boston University School of Education. From there, Kelly’s served as the founding Deputy Head of School of a successful 6-12 charter school in Salem, Massachusetts, became the academic director of a program in New Orleans that launched seven K-12 schools, and led content design and delivery for a national non-profit dedicated to teacher leader development. She then worked at the Louisiana Department of Education and was responsible for the design and delivery of policy, strategy, guidance, and training related to students with diverse learning needs. Kelly hails from Boston University where she earned an Ed.D. in Educational Administration, Training, and Policy Studies, and an Ed.M. in International Education Development; she has also been a proud member of the New Orleans community for the better part of her life.
