Biography
Leah Peterson is a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in higher education, specializing in school improvement planning, institutional effectiveness, and educational leadership. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of K-12 Education Programs at Tulane University's School of Professional Advancement (SoPA), Leah brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
Throughout her career, Leah has held various positions, including Assessment Coordinator, Professor of Educational Leadership, and Quality Assurance Consultant for Education Preparation Providers. Her commitment to excellence has been consistently recognized, earning her prestigious awards for both service and teaching.
Leah's academic journey includes earning a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Nicholls State University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from National University. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Performance Education with a minor in English Education from Nicholls.
While transitioning into higher education, Leah was deeply involved in athletics, competing as a student-athlete and serving as a softball coach at Nicholls State University. Her outstanding contributions led to her induction into the Nicholls State University Hall of Fame in 2016.
Passionate about advancing evidence-based inquiry and impactful leadership, Leah actively engages in action research initiatives, grant writing, and professional presentations. She has spearheaded numerous successful accreditation and quality assurance efforts, ensuring alignment with rigorous state, regional, and national education standards.
Leah's dedication to educational excellence, coupled with her diverse experiences, positions her as a dynamic leader and invaluable asset to the academic community. She continues to inspire positive change through her innovative approaches to teaching, research, and leadership development.
