Biography

Lisa Petrovich is an adjunct professor in Information Technology (IT) for the Tulane University School of Professional Advancement (SoPA). Lisa is an IT project manager, senior systems analyst, and user experience (UX) designer with more than 25 years of experience supporting Federal Government, commercial, and nonprofit clients. Lisa has a strong background in systems analysis, requirements, and database design and enjoys working with stakeholders to apply technology to solve complex problems.

She currently serves as Website Project Manager for the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, overseeing the $1.5M redesign and redevelopment of Brookings’ flagship website and digital presence.

A native New Orleanian, Lisa has spent most of her professional career in the Washington, DC area, with frequent visits “home” and/or working remotely from the 7thWard. As an IT consultant, she provided systems analysis and project management support to Federal Government agencies, including the Departments of Treasury and Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She worked over 10 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers supporting large systems projects and has experience across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in both waterfall and Agile environments.

Lisa founded an independent website design firm, specializing in WordPress websites, graphic design, and strategic communications solutions.

She has a B.A. in Communications and History from Trinity University (TX) and a Masters in Information Management (MSIM) from Marymount University (VA).

What is the best advice you've ever received?
Everyone on your project has something to contribute. Your job as project manager is to identify your team’s strengths and facilitate their contribution.

What are your favorite activities when you are not working?
Reading, sports, politics/activism, riding my ebike, cooking, finding the best gumbo in New Orleans.
