Biography
Ricardo Mesa is currently serving the Jefferson Parish Library as the IT Network Supervisor. He is the Department Head of IT and is responsible for the Network, Servers, Database, and Desktop infrastructure. He is a Visionary Information Technology leader with over 25 years of hands-on experience and 20+ years of local and federal government experience in Network/Server Management, Administration, and Telecommunications infrastructure. Skilled with a variety of network operating systems, hardware, software, networks, servers, workstations, LANs, WANs, and a variety of peripherals. He is Former U.S. Army Systems Analyst with specialized direction in Information Systems Administration and Cyber-Security.
Ricardo has also served as an Adjunct Computer Professor at ITI College. He also teaches Office and technology classes at the Jefferson Parish Library. He is a life-long learner and likes to learn new things about technology. He stays on top of technology by completing coursework in Cybersecurity, Cisco Networking, UCS, Data Centers, and IP Telephony. Ricardo is a recent member of Toastmasters International, specifically District 68, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals grow in their communication and leadership skills while improving their self-confidence. He is a member of the Spanish & English Bilingual Club.
Ricardo holds an AS in Computer Programming, a BS in Information Technology, and MPS in Information Technology. He is also working towards an MLS degree which should be completed in 2024. Some of the certifications that Ricardo previously possessed are MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CNE, Dell, Citrix, Oracle, A+, and Network+.
