Biography
Dr. Meaney joined the faculty in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University in the Fall of 2009. In August 2017, Dr. Meaney began her new academic journey as Chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance. Prior to transitioning to her role as Chair, she served as the graduate Coordinator for the Exercise Science & Sports Science graduate program and as the Coordinator for the Physical Education Teacher Education program. Dr. Meaney began her academic career as a faculty member at Texas Tech University where she also served as Associate Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center and Associate Chair of the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sports Sciences. Dr. Meaney’s research focuses on examining the teaching and learning process. Her passion for, and commitment to excellence in teaching has been recognized at the department, university, and national levels.
