Biography
Noel Wong is Tulane University's Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Noel, a graduate of City University of New York, is an award-winning senior information technology executive with 30 years of experience. During his long and illustrious career, he has served in numerous leadership roles including chief information officer, chief technology officer and senior vice president. He has held executive positions at Dallas-based XO Communications, a $1.5 billion annual revenue business with 2,600 employees, and Georgia’s Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, an $8 billion annual revenue business with 16,000 employees. He has also held IT positions at Computer Sciences Crp., RAND Corp. and the Los Angeles Times.
Noel brings to Tulane achievement in such areas as strategic planning and governance, IT organizational transformation, regulatory compliance and cybersecurity, and infrastructure and cloud computing.
Noel was a finalist for the Dallas CIO of the Year award in 2017 and was named a top 50 CIO by the Texas Diversity Council in 2017. He has also been recognized by CIO Review as one of the top CIOs in the Aerospace and Defense and Telecommunications sectors.
