Roy Hensley

Mr. Hensley has extensive management and operational experience in the IT industry, including project management, enterprise architecture, business management, and security.  He is currently Program Director for Enterprise Technology Solutions in commercial, state, and local government at Geocent, LLC, and serves information technology needs for the New Orleans Police Department.  At Geocent, Roy manages the operations, software development and project management practices, as well as the associated customer interactions.

Prior to Geocent, Mr. Hensley managed enterprise architecture and planning for Superior Energy Services Inc. (NYSE: SPN).  This role included data center and systems architecture and design, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, governance, IT strategy, change management, and performance optimization.  The company had 15,000 users, 150 sites, 30 subsidiaries, and 6 data centers globally.  He also participated in security audits and responses for the enterprise.

Mr. Hensley entered the IT industry in 2005 by acquiring interest in a consulting services company, then running and growing it until its sale in 2008.  In addition to founding the company’s PMO and Business Analysis practice, Roy also performed business analysis for clients such as Pinellas County, FL and the State of FL, subcontracting to Microsoft Consulting Services.  This work included a tax collection and distribution system with a $2B annual turnover, and student reporting for the State.

Before 2005, Mr. Hensley spent 11 years in the semiconductor industry performing and managing core technology development for Dallas Semiconductor, then in strategic marketing and product definition for Maxim Integrated Products, which acquired Dallas Semiconductor.  Roy architected multiple technology nodes, led device engineering, and production ramps.  Yield enhancement and design for manufacturing were applied to new nodes as well as their predecessors using 6 Sigma methodologies within an ISO 9001 framework.  Statistical process controls were put in place and made visible to maximize Cpk across over 140 processes and variants.

Roy holds an MBA from SMU, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from LSU, and was an IFR (Integral Fast Reactor) Fellow at Argonne National Labs-West for next generation nuclear reactor design and operation.  While in graduate school, he worked as a research assistant and a teaching assistant in Electrical Engineering and in Nuclear Engineering for both undergraduate and graduate courses.  He also guided senior integrated circuit design project teams, evaluated and graded their designs.  With a continued passion for education, Mr. Hensley is currently a Tulane School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) Applied Computing Industry Advisory Board Member.
