Summer Intern Spotlight: Candice Brown, General Legal Studies
Candice Brown is a SoPA student working toward a Paralegal Certificate and Bachelor of Arts in General Legal Studies. Fall 2021 is her final semester and she is making sure that when she leaves campus with her Tulane degree she’ll also take with her a wealth of work experience that she’s earning as a summer intern with David A. Dalia Attorney at Law. Let’s see how it’s going!
How did you learn about this summer opportunity?
I learned about the internship through my program director at SoPA. I was matched and placed by Mrs. Robyn Ice.
Tell us about the work you are doing this summer.
I researched and summarized Louisiana Supreme Court disciplinary cases for the Cutting Edge Entertainment Law Conference taking place in New Orleans, Aug. 26-28.
Is your work pretty hectic?
I’m actually having a great time and learning a lot. My work is remote and self-paced.
What is/will be the greatest strength you’ll take away from your summer position?
Researching cases, learning about attorney rules of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
What do you love most about being a SoPA student?
SoPA provides a quality of education. I also love having really experienced professors and their willingness to provide career help and guidance outside of the classroom is exceptional.
